Book Review - Dumping Princes, The Calypso Chronicles by Tyne O'Connell
Pulling Princes, The Calypso Chronicles is a book that is heart-warming,
revenge thirsty and romantic. It tells a story of a girl who is dating a
prince, but when she is dumped by text and causes an outrage and you could say
thing get “a little” out of hand.
Calypso is a typical teenager who is focused on
boys instead of studying, her fencing tournament and the band. What will happen
to Calypso if she chooses boys over friendship?
This is the 4th book of the series written by Tyne
O’Connell and other books in the series include pulling princess, duelling
princess and a royal match. I have only read 1 of the 4 books and due to the
book, I have read so far, I will be reading the whole series.
This book
includes a glossary at the back as some words used are old English and
therefore, that is what makes the book easy to understand. In addition to this
it uses modern day scenarios which really contrast nicely with the type of
words in the text.
The moral of this story is a great example of life,
the good and the bad parts and that if things don’t go your way revenge can
lead to unseen consequences, however bad things can lead up to great
opportunities in the near future.
The age rating for this book is 9-13 years.
